DIY-1

anti-wrinkle-eye-stick-1

Once you hit mid 30’s it’s time to use an eye cream.  To be honest, I have never felt the need to use and eye cream.  Now, I have the need.  Fine lines have made a home around my eyes, not to mention puffiness and dark circles.  Blame it on the kids, not enough water, bad eating habits, age-whatever it is, it’s time to replenish and nourish that delicate skin and prevent future lines from cropping up too prematurely!

This is a simple recipe.  If you can make lip balm then this will be a cinch!  I put it in a lip balm tube for added convenience and keep it by my bed so I can apply it nightly!  You’ll love the creamy consistency that is easily swiped around the eyes (and even around the mouth) for gentle yet thorough application!  This recipe calls for Shea butter, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Carrot Seed Essential Oil, Vitamin E oil, Frankincense essential oil and good ole Lavender!diy-eye-stick

Meadowfoam Seed Oil is an excellent oil for aging skin. It absorbs quickly but leaves a light barrier that holds moisture in the skin. It’s softening and moisturizing power is amazing. It provides natural protection from the sun and helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It is rich in Vitamins C and E.

Shea Butter helps rebuild collagen and is ultra moisturizing.  Coconut Oil heals and calms as well as moisturizes with out clogging pores.  Vitamin E oil is excellent for all skin types and helps prolong the shelf life of your product.  Frankincense oilis excellent in regenerating healthy skin cells.  It balances the skin and helps other oils to penetrate deeper.  Lavender essential oil calms and balances the skin as well as adding a lovely scent to your eye cream.

Carrot Seed essential oil is the real STAR of this eye cream.  It contains a large amount of antioxidants, vitamin C and Vitamin K.  These components help to protect against stress, UV rays and pollution.  Carotenoids have been found to enhance the body’s immune response to UV rays, which can decrease skin damage from UV exposure.  Carrot Seed oil is healing and rejuvenates skin cells. In fact, carrot seed oil helps to heal eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis because of its ability to stimulate cell growth and repair damaged skin.  Carrot Seed oil also helps to balance the skin-it will not clog pores, but will moisturize dry skin.

This recipe makes 1 ounce.  You could probably fill up about 5-6 lip balm tubes so share with friends!!  I put the excess in a .85 (25ml) ounce glass jar.  Find lip balm tubes

The shelf life of this eye cream is 6 months.  Apply a thin layer around the bottom of your eye.  Do not get in your eye.  Use nightly before bedtime.  Less is more-If you apply too much, you’ll be a grease-bomb!  Remember, this is such a pure product-the only thing close to a filler is beeswax and beeswax is actually beneficial in protecting your skin!  A little bit goes a long way!!

This is probably the easiest DIY you can do for the maximum pay off-You’ll see results within days-Your skin cells will plump and smooth when nourished with this handy little stick!

**Drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep-this alone will improve the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and lines.  Add a potent, pure eye cream and you WILL see results!
